These 100+ year old star-marked skillets are extremely difficult to locate and finding one in in such good condition is even harder. The series dates sometime from 1914 to the early 1920s. There is only three sizes of skillets in this series: 7,8 & 9.

Wagner Ware cast iron produced before WWII are the finest in quality for that time period. They tend to have very few casting flaws resulting in a smooth polished finish on both the interior and exterior surfaces.

The cooking surface has light utensil scores, patches of fine etching and some tiny pin size pits. These are almost undetectable as you glide your fingers over a near glass smooth surface. Four sheets of printer paper slipped under one edge stops movement on a granite surface. No chips, cracks or repairs and does not spin.

Test for flatness of Pan. With the pan resting on a polished granite surface, press down all along the top rim of the pan searching for movement. If movement is found, slip pieces of printer paper under one edge of the pan until pan stops moving. This item is from an old collection and was cleaned and seasoned, then stored for many years. Because item was stored for many years, there may be spots of light surface rust. This can generally be washed away then re-seasoned before use. This item is photographed in very bright light to highlight fine details. Under these lighting conditions, item may take on a brown color. Item is much darker under normal light.
