This is an exceptionally nice Favorite cast iron Scotch bowl. Favorite Stove and Range had a limited manufacturing run from 1916 to 1934, when the company was acquired by Chicago Hardware Foundry. There are far fewer of these than ones from Griswold and Wagner. The lower interior surface of these bowls generally are found with some type of corrosion. This one has patches of fine etching from corrosion and a few fin pin size pits.

The are undetectable as you glide your fingers over a near glass smooth surface. No chips, cracks or repairs. This item is from an old collection and was cleaned and seasoned, then stored for many years. Because item was stored for many years, there may be spots of light surface rust. This can generally be washed away then re-seasoned before use.

This item is photographed in very bright light to highlight fine details. Under these lighting conditions, item may take on a brown color. Item is much darker under normal light. Photos are part of the items description. Please use them for a more clear understanding of items overall condition.
