Vintage Cast Iron Golf Ball / Muffin Pan. Use this pan to make gems - small cakes, or to make golf balls by joining two half cups together to form a ball.

The first gem muffin pans were patented in 1859 by Nathaniel Waterman. His design was for the pan to have individual cups that have cut-outs between them to allow heat to circulate around the cups during baking. The cups still needed to be connected together to help heat spread through the iron. Pls consider the pictures as part of the description.

There is a "6" or "9" marking on the handle. This came from my great grandmother's house.
