Wagner Ware cast iron produced before WWII are the finest in quality for that time period. They tend to have very few casting flaws resulting in a smooth polished finish on both the interior and exterior surfaces.

The cooking surface has very light utensil scores and just a few fine patches of etching from corrosion. These are undetectable as you glide your fingers over a glass smooth surface. Pan has movement on a granite surface (see photos).

No chips, cracks or repairs. Test for flatness of Pan. With the pan resting on a polished granite surface, press down all along the top rim of the pan searching for movement. If movement is found, slip pieces of printer paper under one edge of the pan until pan stops moving.

This item is from an old collection and was cleaned and seasoned, then stored for many years. Because item was stored for many years, there may be spots of light surface rust. This can generally be washed away then re-seasoned before use. This item is photographed in very bright light to highlight fine details.
